I am a sentimental fool.
I am a sentimental fool.

Nothing draws me in like genuine connections, and as a family photographer I strive to seek out these raw, real moments to capture. There is so much beauty right before our eyes, and my goal is to freeze it in time for your family to treasure for years to come. I am unbelievably passionate about what I do, but I’m even more head over heels for my husband, my two beautiful girls, my family, and my friends. And flowers. I just can never have enough flowers. If you would like to find out more about me, you can find out more below.

  • 01 I love to eat.

My entire journey into photography happened because of the recession. When my husband and I relocated to Durham, NC for his graduate program, jobs were far and few between. To pass the time and to lift my spirits, I began a food blog. It was so much fun, and I learned a ton about the ins and outs of how to take an impactful picture. Having two small girls and a photography business has definitely slowed my recipe creations, but check out my Recipe Index for past recipes.

  • 02 Home is where the heart is.

I absolutely love traveling and experiencing new parts of our world, but I am a huge homebody. Being home is soothing to my soul, and making our home feel like home is enlivening. Decorating is obviously part of that, but it’s also all the memories that take place within these walls. Plus my bed is super comfy.

  • 03 No really, I can never have enough flowers.

Garden roses, hydrangeas, ranunculuses, poppies, tulips, lilacs, snapdragons, begonias… the list could go on and on. I LOVE flowers. I have fresh flowers inside our house regularly, and I’ve been working on adding more to the outside of our house, too. Flowers can be anything from dynamic, delicate, graphic, romantic, structural, and so much more. They are endlessly fascinating to me, and a common subject of mine in photography. Plus they smell pretty nice, too.
